The Shepherd Mayfair Opens in London’s Historic Shepherd Market
The Shepherd Mayfair has opened in Shepherd Market, introducing an 82-room boutique hotel in one of London’s historic neighbourhoods.

The property comprises 70 rooms and 12 suites alongside a collection of British art, wellness and lifestyle partnerships and three food and beverage concepts.
Fayre and The Lounge are now open, while Teddy’s, a 72-cover late-night cocktail bar, is scheduled to launch in November 2026.
The hotel stands on the site associated with The Cottage, dating to 1618, and takes its name from architect and developer Edward Shepherd, who subsequently developed the surrounding area that became Shepherd Market.
A joint venture between Bain Capital and Orka Investments, The Shepherd Mayfair occupies 33,600 sq ft across six floors at 2 Stanhope Row.
References to local history are incorporated throughout the property, including figures associated with the area and details inspired by its wartime intelligence connections and nearby Down Street station.
