NinetyNine Regent Street has opened in central London, introducing a new two-floor nightlife destination at the former home of The Cuckoo Club, continuing more than seven decades of entertainment and hospitality at the historic address.

Located on Swallow Street, close to Piccadilly Circus, the new venue brings together music, cocktails and late-night hospitality across two distinct spaces, The Club Room and The Vinyl Room.

The opening marks the latest chapter for an address associated with London’s nightlife since the 1950s, when Al Burnett established the Stork Club.

During its early years, the venue attracted prominent figures from politics, entertainment and international society, including Harold Macmillan, John Profumo, King Hussein of Jordan, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor.

In 2005, the address became home to The Cuckoo Club, which developed a reputation as one of London’s established late-night destinations, welcoming international celebrities and members of the royal family.

NinetyNine represents a new concept for the location, with the operators seeking to combine different aspects of London’s nightlife within a single destination.

A spokesperson for NinetyNine said: “London has no shortage of incredible places to go out, but over time the experience has become increasingly fragmented.
